July 28, 2015

So this last week was crazy.  Tuesday we had to go to Cordoba for legal work for Elder Tabares and then that night we went back and stayed the night in Dean Funes so I could do intercambios with the elders there. Then that night I had an interview with a little 9 year old named Julieta.  She got baptized last week. She was pretty cool.  She knew everything at 9 and yeah, I was eating dirt at 9 I think, so it was cool. Wednesday we traveled back to Cruz Del Eje and worked in the area.   We are passing by a lot of members cause we are in a small branch so we are reactivating more than anything now, but also have a couple of the less active member's family that aren't baptized. We are teaching them so maybe we will have a few there. Yesterday I had to go to Cordoba again for a meeting and we got back at around 1 this morning. Got your package and one from Shonia, One blessed elder I am.

Sounds like the longhorn days were chill this year. Ha missed it but I also didn't really realize it was going on so it's all good.

Tell the Grandma Thanks, It's nice to have grandmas.   I have the pics from the great great great grandparents with me and everyone is like, wow, I don't even know my grandparents. Nice to have a close family for sure.

Well I come home in less than a year now, haha.  It's super crazy how fast it goes but it's going. Trying to do all the good I can and hope it changes at least one life. Just knowing that we are the only church that works under the Keys and revelation of God has so much power to touch lives.  After a while you realize how important free agency is.

But hey love you guys and have a safe week.

July 20, 2015

Week one in Cross of the axle was pretty good. Cruz del Eje is a Branch but it's like the center of the branch.  My area is the only one that has a church, the other areas in our zone are all houses. I'm in the zone Noroeste or north west. All the areas here are ran by the mission not the church so it's pretty cool. In my district there is Chamical which is 2 hours away in LaRioja and then Dean Funes is about an hour. I have 6 elders in my district and live in a pension with the Zone Leaders. My Comp is Elder Tabares from Columbia with 3 months in the mission. He is from the same group as my son. In the pension there is Elder Muños from Nicaragua with 22 months and also Elder Southwick from Kanab with 22. Ha ight so that's what the area and mission is like here.

The people here are a bit different than in Las Flores. There are a bunch of folks that don't know how to read or write and those that do just learned recently but it's a cool place.  There are alot of nice peeps that like to talk so in that sense it's good ha.

This last week we went to the branch president's house and dug down an olive tree ha. Yeah dug down. It was funny. The Nicaraguan kid was watching me work and asked what I did before the mission and stuff. In the end he would ask me what to do.  Like how to work haha and then he would tell everyone that I'm from the country. Ha I don't know what it means but I guess being from the country means you work hard.

So as for the camera it's lost for sure I'd say. Ha if anyone sees a camera here or anything of value it's automatically theirs so yeah I will prolly get a camera I seen in a shop. Its a nikon too. There was that and then a olympus but the nikon had lots better optics and stuff for like 10 bucks difference so yeah I'll see if I can get that soon so you can get your pics.

The language is going good. I dont have a problem talking or understanding.  It's more just working on the accent and fixing little mistakes.

Ight mother mam. Love you, hope your week goes good and that the little kids pórtense bien y hasta la semana que viene. Les amo Mucho!!

Con todo mi amor

July 13, 2015

Hello mother!

Changes were today and I am now in a place called Cruz del Eje. It's in a pretty cool little town.  I got called as district leader too so that will be interesting. It was hard to leave some of the families in Las Flores for sure.  Harder when they are crying for sure. I was up until like 1 writing and packing and then got up this morning at 5:50 to go to the terminal to take a 4 hour bus ride to this area. I'm kinda tired but I'm excited.

I never found my camera. I'm pretty sure I  was pick pocketed on the bus... I was pretty sad but maybe it's for a reason. But yeah I'll try to get one some time. I'll keep my eye out for a cheap one.
Ha and now for the crazy part. I seen the whole Elder Curtis and his parents together again for the first time in two years. It was a pretty special moment and tears were being shed. But yeah made me a little trunky.  Here in a year maybe.

This last week was good though with the work. I really wanted this family to pray and feel the truth and the mom of them did finally and got her answer. She wants to get baptised now so I'll prolly be calling my son to see if they follow up.

Love you mom and don't spoil Devin too much.  He is 16 now.

July 6, 2015

Hola mama!

So this week went by all right.  Frustrating at times but yeah ha it was pretty cool. Got bit by my first dog haha. It only got me with like one tooth and so it wasn't bad. A little blood was all that happened so we are good.

This could be the last week I'm in this area so we are going through the area book good and tracking down all the old investigators that we haven't yet so that the next transfer they have something to work with.

Ha It's super wierd to see Elder Curtis finishing the mission here soon. He had like 18 months when we were together and now he is ending. Makes me scared how fast this next year will go. I honestly love the mission and all you learn here. But more than anything the change that you see with the people.  Just knowing they have knowlege of the truth is cool. What they do with it now is a different thing ha the whole albedrio thing plays a big role but it's still cool to teach.

Sounds like it was an interesting week in the states ha the big birthday of The USA and Elder Packer passing away. Crazy what goes down ha and how sad it is that we don't know until Mondays ha, pretty out of the world loop. But good to hear everyone is still going at home.

Love all you guys and hope to hear from you next week. Oh and whoever reads this, its Shonia's Birthday so send her a Feliz cumpleaños.
